Relationship Between Sources OfStress And Demographic Characteristics Of The Medical Records Technicians

This survey, quantitative, and empirical-based descriptive research aims to identify the organization policy and practice-related stressors (sources of stress) and to examine the relationship between the sources of stress and demographic variables of the medical records technicians working in private multi-speciality hospitals in four Districts in South Tamil Nadu, India: Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Tuticorin, and Kanyakumari.  Using judgement and convenience sampling techniques 200 respondents were sampled from these four Districts.  Primary data were collected with the help of a structured self-made questionnaire.  Secondary data were collected from books and journals.  Percentage, Weighted average, and Kruskal Wallis test have been administered to analyze the data.  The results have discovered: Long working hours; inadequate salary; attitude and behaviour of the superiors; and inadequate staff in the department are the topmost;  Absence of support from administrative personnel during crises; lack of staff and assistance; lack of recognition, motivation, and career growth opportunities; and fear of job insecurity are the next foremost; and inadequate infrastructure; lack of clarity in the reporting system; inadequate welfare facilities; inadequate cooperation of other departmental staff; and malfunctioning equipment are the least stressors.  Besides, Age, salary, educational qualification, work experience, place of stay, work shift, and mode of travel have significant relationships with organization policy and practice-related stressors, while marital status, native place, and job situation do not.
