POLÍTICAS EDUCATIVAS NEOLIBERAIS E A EDUCAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL DE NÍVEL MÉDIO NO INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE SÃO PAULO: FORMAÇÃO POLITÉCNICA OU INSTRUMENTAL?
The objective of this essay was to analyse the impacts of neoliberal educational policies on the National Guidelines for High School Vocational Education for the curricular organization of technical courses integrated into high school at the Federal Institute of São Paulo. When comparing resolutions nº 6/2012 and nº 1/2021 with the curricular policy of that institution, we perceive the advance of an instrumental teaching of the working class, which reinforces the historical duality between intellectual and manual work, distancing itself from the idea of polytechnics which gained prominence until 2016. We conclude that the current legislative apparatus is based on an idea of neoliberal education propagated in the reform of secondary education, in the publication of the National Common Curricular Base and by the discourse of a superficial and uncritical professional training for young people with less purchasing power. In this way, we defend an intense and collective debate to resume the idea of polytechnic training of the working class that was the essence of the creation of the Federal Institutes in Brazil.
