A Study on the Influence between Social Support and Grit, Job Anxiety, and Career Barriers of University Students after COVID-19

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of tenacity on the game performance ability of high school golf players. For this purpose, the study surveyed 270 male and female golf players in high school who competed in the preliminary rounds of the 35th National Golf Tournament for Middle and High School Students for the Sports Chosun title held by the Korea Junior Golf Association in 2024. Pearson’s correlation analysis and regression analysis were carried out to analyze the relationship between tenacity and game performance ability. The findings led to the following conclusions: First, the study analyzed relations between desire to win, fighting spirit, and self-confidence under tenacity and the psychological and technical factors of game performance ability among high school golf players and found positive(+) correlations between all the factors(p<.01). Secondly, the study analyzed the effects of tenacity on the psychological factors of performance ability in high school golf players and found that fighting spirit(t=5.294, p=.000) and self-confidence(t=4.259, p=.000) under tenacity had highly significant positive(+) relations with the psychological factors. Finally, the study also analyzed the effects of tenacity on the technical factors of game performance ability in high school golf players and found that fighting spirit(t=5.566, p=.000) and self-confidence(t=3.368, p=.001) under tenacity had highly significant positive(+) relations with the technical factors. These findings raise a need to introduce experiences with proper psychological counseling and mental training in the training course to enhance the performance of golf players in high school so that they can have positive thoughts and do their best to the end to overcome mental and psychological pressures in extreme situations of hardship and difficulties in training and competition processes.
