On the need to increase the level of navigation literacy of the population in modern healthcare (review).
Currently, the medical scientific community recognizes the fact that the navigational literacy of the population complements the effectiveness of healthcare by increasing the adequacy of interaction among all participants: consumers and providers of medical services. Improving the level of navigation literacy of the population is an urgent strategy that can help the population to find the necessary support in the health system and gain access to it. T h e p u r p o s e o f t h e s t u d y is to analyze the published data in the scientific literature on the need to increase the level of navigation literacy of the population in modern healthcare. M a t e r i a l s a n d m e t h o d s . The collection, study and analysis of available information sources in the scientometric databases WoS,Scopus. The search for scientific articles was carried out in the electronic databases PubMed, Google Scholar, eLibrary.RU by keywords. 64 articles were included in the review for analysis. R e s u l t s . The multilevel and multidimensional organization of the modern healthcare system creates difficulties for the population in navigation and effective use of medical services, search, interpretation of information necessary for navigation. The published research results in the scientific literature indicate the need to analyze in detail the navigation literacy of the population in order to more effectively solve the identified problem. Key adjustments in relation to improving the navigation literacy of the population are possible only with its active study directly among all those who directly interact with the health care system as a consumer of medical services. The study of navigation literacy of the population is currently a fairly young, little-studied and promising area in the field of public health and public health. F i n d i n g s . Increasing the level of navigation literacy of the population in the modern healthcare system is an urgent issue. Currently, it is necessary to expand the understanding of its level and characteristics in various cohorts of the population in order to develop effective programs on this issue.
