OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF WINTER TOURISM IN THE ARAGATSOTN REGION

The article presents an assessment of winter tourism resources in the Aragatsotn region to stimulate tourist activity in the region. Due to the diverse natural and climatic conditions, tourism and, in particular, winter tourism can become one of the important areas of economic development in Aragatsotn. An important task of organizing recreation and tourism is the correct and rational direction of seasonal flows, which will ensure the smooth operation of the tourist complex of the region throughout the year. The Aragatsotn region has great opportunities for the development of historical, cultural, ecological, and rural tourism, but the possibilities of winter tourism in the region are practically not used. In this regard, it is necessary to evaluate the format (morphometric) indicators of the relief of the region, the severity of winter conditions, the availability of infrastructure, etc. In this article, we present the features of the formation of snow cover on the territory of the Aragatsotn region and its tourist assessment. It should be emphasized that the development of winter tourism in the Aragatsotn tourist complex is important. This will solve the problem of seasonal asymmetry, which will allow the hotel industry to emerge from winter downtime, ensuring new tourist flows from abroad.
