RECREATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF RELIEF (BY MORPHOMETRIC INDICATORS OF THE SHIRAK REGION)

Due to the growing interest in the recreational and tourism potential of the natural environment, there is an urgent need to develop effective methods for assessing the relief to determine the recreational and tourism potential in particular. Morphological indicators, which provide detailed information about the shape and structure of the relief, make it possible to assess the suitability of an object for recreational and tourist purposes. This article is devoted to the study of recreational and tourist methods for assessing relief based on morphometric indicators using geographic information systems (GIS). GIS technologies allow not only to effectively analyze spatial data, but also to integrate them with other spatial components, such as vegetation and climate. During the study, special attention is paid to the selection of morphometric indicators that most fully reflect the recreational and tourist capabilities of the area. The results should be beneficial for planning tourism routes, creating recreation areas and improving natural resource management. This line of research represents a new approach in the field of recreational geography. New tools and methods for recreational and tourism assessment of landforms in the context of their recreational use are provided.
