SAÚDE E QUALIDADE DA ÁGUA EM UMA SUB-BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO TOCANTINS, EM IMPERATRIZ - MA
Poor sanitation can cause water-borne illnesses, which can harm peoples health. The purpose of this study was to look at water quality by physical, physical-chemical, nutrient, and biological variables and the amount of metals (Fe, Cu, and Al) to find out how much the waters of Riacho Bacuri were contaminated. The sampling points in Riacho Bacuri were: source (BA1), middle (BA2), mouth (BA3), and RM (Middle Riacho – tributary) To achieve this, water quality was collected and analyzed to determine physical, physicochemical and biological parameters. The Water Quality Index (WQI) classified this watercourse as poor quality at all sampling points. The results showed that the Bacuri sub-basin has poor water quality characteristics, demonstrating that there are high values in relation to environmental legislation and that the metals present identified in the water (Al, Fe and Cu) are not at dangerous limits for public health. The Bacuri Riacho does not have basic sanitation, which is harmful to the environmental health of the population, which is exposed to its waters through direct and indirect contact.
