People’s Perception towards Government Jobs in India: An Analytical Study of Delhi
Unemployment has always been a problem in the growth of any nation because the prosperity of any country is determined by its per capita income. According Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), India has gone far ahead in unemployment. Although the private and public sector both play a crucial role in solving this problem but in the economic culture of India, even today people give priority to government jobs which also becomes an important issue for governments at the time of elections. Along with government jobs, people believe that it has several economic, social, and political benefits while it is hard to survive in private jobs. On the point of job satisfaction people's perception usually goes with government sector jobs, while some also consider private jobs to be more satisfactory as it gives exposure to all cutting-edge technology. Therefore, our aim in this paper is to find out the reasons why people prefer government jobs. For this, we have chosen an area like Delhi which is no less than a mini India. A sample of this region’s people was selected for the study and a survey was applied to determine the factors that predict the perception of the people regarding government jobs.
