Infulence of Social Supporton Death Anxietyof Elderly Participants in Square Dance : A Chain Mediating Effect of Self-Efficacy and Life Satisfaction
This research, framed within the lens of social support, investigates how social support among participants in elderly square dancing in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, impacts death anxiety. This study uses four scales to measure Social Support, Death Anxiety, Self-Efficacy, and Life Satisfaction. SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 are used for data analysis. The findings reveal significant positive correlations between social support, self-efficacy, and life satisfaction, and negative correlations with death anxiety. Social support not only directly affects death anxiety but also indirectly influences it through the mediating pathways of self-efficacy and life satisfaction. Specifically, three pathways were identified: through self-efficacy mediation, through life satisfaction mediation, and through a chained mediation involving both self-efficacy and life satisfaction. These results illuminate the intricate interplay between social support and death anxiety among elderly square dancing participants, offering valuable insights for promoting active aging through sports engagement.
