THE PARADOX OF PSORIASIS FLARE POST-ART CESSATION: A CASE REPORT
Psoriasis is a chronic inammatory skin disease characterized by papulosquamous lesions resulting from T-cell-mediated dysregulation of keratinocyte proliferation. It can be triggered by HIV infection and may be the rst sign of HIV in some individuals. Treating HIV-associated psoriasis is challenging because it is a T-cell-mediated disease that occurs in patients with weakened immune systems. We present a case of an HIV-positive patient with well-controlled psoriasis on HAART who experienced relapse upon discontinuation of therapy, emphasizing the importance of nding a balance between treating psoriasis and preserving immune function.
