THE MIDDLE MESOZOIC SEDIMENTARY FORMATIONS OF THE EAST OF THE SIBERIAN PLATFORM (STATE OF KNOWLEDGE, MAIN PROBLEMS AND WAYS TO SOLVE THEM)

The modern concepts of the dissection and correlation of sedimentary formations of the Middle Mesozoic in the buried depressions of the sedimentary cover of the east of the Siberian platform are presented. Representative reference sections in various structural and facies zones and subordinate areas of the western periphery of the Verkhoyansk-Kolyma folded region are studied. The research is based on a detailed correlation of the Upper Triassic-Jurassic sections of continental and marine genesis developed in depressions and which are promising for the discovery of various minerals. The estimation of the age and stratigraphic framework of the geological bodies of the studied interval is correlated with the general and regional stratigraphic scales.
