TRAPS OF THE MORKOKA RIVER AND THEIR MORPHOLOGY IN RESPONSE TO THE POSSIBLE PRESENCE OF KIMBERLITES
The study of traps in the outcrops of the middle course of the Morkoka River was carried out. It is established that in this area troupes were formed in three stages, in three phases of implementation. Each subsequent phase of the introduction of the basite melt is distinguished by its petro- and geochemical features, its degree of crystallization of the magmatic melt and, accordingly, its density characteristics. The established unusual form of introduction of intrusions of the second phase (crushing of the sill, introduction into the rocks of the early intrusive) by analogy with the similar behavior of traps near kimberlites (Komsomolskaya and Morkoka pipes) suggests the presence of an unknown kimberlite body under the traps in this area.
