MAPPING OF THE BOTTOM SEDIMENTS OF THE KOLYMA RIVER USING THE GEORADIOLOCATION METHOD IN THE SEARCH FOR THE FOSSIL MAMOTH BONE
The results of an areal GPR survey of the bottom of the meandering section of the middle reaches of the Kolyma River of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is presented. A GPR survey with a large step made it possible to construct a map of the depths of the study area and identify promising areas for searching for fossil mammoth bones. The presence of natural depressions in the bottom of a reservoir containing large local objects is accepted as a search feature.
