ASSOCIATION OF MINERALS AND INTERMETALLIC COMPOUNDS IN METALLIC IRON FROM SIBERIAN TRAPS
Diamond and Precious Metal Geology Institute SB RAS, Yakutsk, Russia On the territory of the Siberian platform, trap intrusions containing large accumulations of native iron nodules are known. In them, the main admixture elements are represented by Ni and Co of a wide range of contents. There are both practically pure iron and intermetallic compounds of iron (Fe2Ni, FeNi and Fe2Co) associated with high-nickel camacite. Cohenite, native copper, zinc, graphite, molten and solid-phase separations and extensive sulfide mineralization have been identified as inclusions in native iron.
