Constructing Tibetan Materia Medica Knowledge Graph from Ecological Census

This work constructs a comprehensive knowledge graph of Tibetan Materia Medica (TMM) based on ecological census text information. Through the collection, cleaning, and integration of ecological census data of TMM, a graph knowledge network was constructed containing four major categories of information, including collection information, plant attributes, ecological information, and medicinal information of TMM. Using Neo4j’s graph query language Cypher, TMM knowledge are realized for efficient query and visualization. The knowledge graph not only sorts out the knowledge context for the research and application of TMM, but also provides a new model for the digital inheritance and development of traditional Tibetan medicine knowledge. The effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method are verified through the case study of TMM knowledge graph construction.
