Constructing Knowledge Hypergraph of Liver Diseases based on Tibetan Medicinal Materials

This work aims to systematically present the complex relationships between multiple entities of Tibetan medicinal materials for treating liver diseases. Based on the binary association relationships of Tibetan medicinal materials’ multiple entities, the multi-element relationships were studied among Tibetan medicinal materials-liver diseases-compound formulas. Ontology modeling was performed using data of Tibetan medicinal materials for treating liver diseases, and a knowledge graph and knowledge hypergraph were constructed. The knowledge graph was constructed based on the Neo4j graph database, while the knowledge hypergraph was constructed in the Python environment using the HyperNetX library functions. Binary relationships of Tibetan medicinal materials-ecological information, Tibetan medicinal materials-collection information, and Tibetan medicinal materials-medicinal information are established. A knowledge graph of the entire path from the growth environment to collection and medicinal use of Tibetan medicinal materials was constructed, providing a rapid search path for relevant professionals. The multi-element relationships among were established in Tibetan medicinal materials-liver diseases-compound formulas, which a knowledge hypergraph was constructed based on Tibetan medicinal materials for treating liver diseases. A knowledge chain is established for a comprehensive from the patient’s disease to the required compound formula to the Tibetan medicinal materials needed for the formula.
