Beware of the Bleb

A bleb-related infection (BRI) should always be considered in patients with a history of bleb-forming glaucoma surgery. Misdiagnosed or undertreated bleb-related infections can lead to endophthalmitis and permanent vision loss. Clinicians should understand the serious nature of BRIs and be knowledgeable about risk factors, treatment, and diagnosis to prevent vision loss in these patients.
