Case Study - Managing Supply Chain Labour Rights Risk in Our North Sea Business
At bp we believe that everyone working for bp should be treated fairly and with respect. This is embedded in our ‘Who we are’ values of care for others (figure 1). When we get this right, we have a more productive and safer workforce, as well as better communication and relationships within our workforce. Examples of how labour rights concerns may show up in a workplace if poorly managed are individuals not being paid on time or fully, being or feeling harassed, the perception of not being able to leave a work environment, or the fear to speak up if there is a concern in the workplace. The collective term used at bp for this is labour rights and modern slavery or LRMS risk management.
