Effects of K-POP Jump Rope Exercise Program for Health Promotion of Elementary School Student

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of K-POP jump rope exercise program for health promotion from the elementary school students Methods For the completion of this purpose, elementary school students were divided into experimental groups (n=15) and control groups (n=13). The K-POP jump rope exercise program was conducted at 50 minutes per session twice a week for 14 weeks. The measurement items were focused on body composition and physical fitness variables. The statistical significance level was set to .05 and the following results were obtained. Results First, the change in body composition, the experimental group showed a significant decrease in BMI (body mass index), BFR (body fat ratio), visceral fat index, body fat mass and subcutaneous fat mass post compared to pre and there was no significant difference in the control group. Second, the change in physical fitness variables, the experimental group showed a significant increase flexibility, muscle strength, muscular endurance, and cardiopulmonary endurance post compared to pre and there was no significant difference in the control group. Conclusions The K-POP jump rope exercise program for elementary school students showed positive changes in body composition and improvements in physical fitness variables. Therefore, it can be applied as an exercise program for promoting health among elementary school students.
