The Effect of Smart Neck Exercise Program on Change Cervical Extension Strength, Forward Head Posture and VAS in College Students

The purpose of this study obtained the following conclusions as a result of measuring and analyzing changes in cervical extension strength, forward head posture, and pain in a group with nine students who were diagnosed with forward head as female students attending colleges and were treated with SMART NECK exercise, and a control group with nine students who did not receive any treatment. In the case of changes in cervical extension strength, muscular strength was shown to increase by 15.11% after treatment of SMART NECK exercise(p<.001), and it was also shown to increase by 4.28% in the control group(p<.05). In the forward head posture, the SMART NECK exercise group showed a decrease of 47.05%, a statistically significant difference(p<.001), and the control group also showed a decrease of 4.45%, but there was no statistical significance. In the change in pain, the SMART NECK exercise group showed a 56.53% decrease in pain after treatment(p<.001) and the control group also showed a 7.28% decrease, but there was no statistical significance. Summarizing the above results, it is believed that the treatment of the SMART NECK exercise program has a positive effect on reducing pain as well as increasing cervical extension strength and correcting forward head posture in female college students, and should be highly recommended in clinical settings.
