The Effect of Korean Men Players Age on the Golf Performance

This study collected and analyzed performance data from the official website of the Korean Professional Golfers&quot Association(KPGA) to examine the impact of age on the performance of KPGA Korean Tour players. The data spanned a period of 10 years, from 2013 to 2023. The analysis of the collected data was conducted using IBM&quots SPSS version 27 for Windows. Descriptive statistics were employed to examine the age and golf skill factors of KPGA Korean Tour players. Pearson&quots correlation analysis was performed to explore the associations between age and golf skill factors. Based on the results of the correlation analysis, we conducted a simple linear regression analysis to verify the effect of age on the performance factors that showed a statistically significant correlation with age. The performance factors that exhibited a statistically significant correlation with age were set as the dependent variables. The results indicated that the athletes&quot age had a statistically significant correlation with performance factors in the following order: driving distance, recovery rate, fairway accuracy, and average score (p<.05). It was also found that age had a significant effect on average score, driving distance, fairway accuracy, and recovery rate (p<.05). In conclusion, it is believed that improving the performance factors that are significantly influenced by age can help in more efficiently enhancing performance levels and maintaining a longer athletic career.
