EP22.25: Ultrasonic cavitation inhibits the antiporter system Xc‐ to promote ferroptosis in paclitaxel‐resistant ovarian cancer

To elucidate whether ultrasonic cavitation could inhibit antiporter system Xc- function and promotes ferroptosis in paclitaxel (PTX)-resistant ovarian cancer cells. Firstly, the effect of ultrasonic cavitation on the proliferation of PTX-resistant ovarian cancer cells, SKOV3-TR30 and A2780-TR300. Animal experiments were conducted to elucidate the efficacy and safety of ultrasonic cavitation. Subsequently, assay kits were utilised to evaluate alterations in lipid oxidation and other cellular components in cells following ultrasonic cavitation treatment. Transmission electron microscopy and confocal fluorescence microscopy were used to observe signs of ferroptotic features on the mitochondria and cell membrane of cells after ultrasonic cavitation treatment. Finally, changes in SLC7A11 levels of cells were detected by Western blot and PCR experiments.
