EP09.36: A fetal scimitar syndrome using spatiotemporal image correlation combined with high‐definition flow imaging

Scimitar syndrome (SS) is a rare congenital heart disease. Its main features are hypoplasia of the right lung and abnormal pulmonary venous drain into the inferior vena cava (IVC). Children are prone to respiratory infections and secondary severe pulmonary hypertension, which can lead to heart failure. Therefore, high-quality imaging is clinically important for the prenatal diagnosis of SS and to conduct a precise anatomical survey of abnormalities. In this case, we visually displayed the right pulmonary vein drain into inferior vena cava using spatiotemporal image correlation combined with high-definition (STIC-HD) flow, which is helpful for prenatal diagnosis. A fetal with SS at 22 weeks and 6 days of gestation was observed in detail using two-dimensional and STIC-HD flow. STIC-HD flow revealed very realistic images of pulmonary vein connections: the right pulmonary veins (RPV) drain into the IVC, whereas the left pulmonary veins (LPV) drain into the left atrium (LA). The patient chose induced abortion, and the prenatal diagnosis was confirmed after autopsy. Abstract
