EP09.32: Usefulness of low‐flow power Doppler in early fetal cardiac screening
To investigate whether the use of low-flow power Doppler during early fetal cardiac screening is useful for cardiac morphological evaluation. Fetal echocardiography was performed between 11+0 weeks to 13+6 weeks from January 2023 to December 2023. All studies were conducted by Voluson E 10 (GE HealthCare, Zipf, Aistria) with two-directional power Doppler (HDflow) and low-flow power Doppler (SlowflowHD). The following images were retrospectively reviewed; four chamber view (4CV), left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT), right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT), three vessel trachea view (3VTV) and pulmonary veins (PV). 212 early fetal screenings were performed in the included period, 158 of which were applied to this study. Of the 158 cases, 4CV, LVOT, RVOT, 3VTV and PV were identified in 158 (100%), 107 (67.7%), 85 (57%), 144 (91.1%) and 3 (1.9%) cases for HD flow, and 158 (100%), 150 (94.9%), 140 (88.6%), 152(96.2%) and 152 (96.2%) cases for slowflowHD, respectively. The detection rate of the images was higher for slowflowHD in all cross sections, especially in outflows and pulmonary veins. The use of slowflowHD at the first trimester fetal echocardiogram contributes significantly to detection of the outflow and pulmonary veins.
