EP08.18: Prevalence, Doppler assessments, and perinatal outcomes of late‐onset fetal growth restriction

This study aims to assess the prevalence and Doppler velocimetry of the umbilical artery (UA) and vein (UV), uterine artery (UTA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), and ductus venosus (DV) and perinatal outcomes in late-onset fetal growth restriction (FGR). A prospective study was conducted on singleton pregnant women at gestational age ≥ 32 weeks. Ultrasonography was performed to evaluate estimated fetal weight (EFW), amniotic fluid index (AFI), pulsatility index (PI) in UA, MCA and UTA, UV-blood flow/abdominal circumference (UVBF/AC), and DV. Demographic data, ultrasound parameters, and perinatal outcomes were compared between appropriate-for-gestational age (AGA) and FGR groups. A total of 241 cases were recruited, with a 31.1% prevalence of late-onset FGR. The FGR group exhibited significantly lower pre-pregnancy weight (52 vs 58.5 kg, p < 0.001) and body mass index (21 vs 22 kg/m2, p = 0.001). UA-PI percentile was significantly higher in the FGR group (60.5 vs 51, p = 0.036). UVBF/AC was significantly lower in the FGR group (6.8 vs. 7.9, p < 0.001). The cerebroplacental ratio (CPR), MCA-PI and UTA-PI percentiles were not different between the two groups. Neonatal birthweight was significantly lower in the FGR group (2750 vs 3235 g, p < 0.001). However, other adverse neonatal complications did not significantly differ between the two groups. No stillbirths or neonatal deaths were reported. The prevalence of late-onset FGR was high, with significantly higher UA-PI percentile and lower UVBF/AC observed in the FGR group. Nonetheless, there was no significant difference in neonatal complications between groups. Normal group (N = 166) Median (IQR) FGR group (N = 75) Median (IQR)
