EP15.02: Fetal cardiac function and Doppler studies in obese pregnant women in comparison with non‐obese women

Prospective cross-sectional observational study 63 patients in the third trimester. Patients were divided according to their body mass index into non-obese (BMI < 30) and obese (BMI≥ 30). To test placental changes, uterine arteries mean pulsatility index, umbilical artery PI and middle cerebral artery PI were measured in all cases. For fetal cardiac function, myocardial performance index, E/A ratio, outflow tracts PSV and ductus venosus PI were measured in addition to cardiothoracic ratio. Our study showed a significantly higher uterine PI in the obese group compared to the normal group. However none of the cardiac function parameters were significantly different between the two groups.
