EP08.15: Soluble fms‐like tyrosine kinase 1 for the prediction of small for gestational age
We aimed to study the predictive ability of clinical, ultrasound, and biochemical markers for SGA in pregnancies at risk for fetal growth disorders. This was a secondary analysis of singletons with estimated fetal weight (EFW) measured between 26 and 36 weeks. Chromosomal or congenital malformations were excluded. Univariate regression analysis was used to explore the association of clinical data, EFW, abdominal circumference (AC), amniotic fluid index (AFI), fetal and maternal Doppler, soluble-fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt-1), and placenta growth factor (PlGF) with small for gestational age (SGA). Variables with p value < .10 after univariate regression were included in a multivariate regression model. Odds ratios (95% CI) and area under the curve (AUC) were obtained. Of 1054 cases, 139 had SGA. Age, parity, race, umbilical artery PI, left uterine artery PI, EFW, AC, AFI, and sFlt-1 were significant predictors of SGA (see table 1). A multivariate logistic regression model predicted SGA with an AUC of .84 (.72-.95) (see figure 1). The addition of sFlt-1 to clinical and ultrasound data had very good predictive ability for SGA. Larger trials are needed to confirm our results. Please note: The publisher is not responsible for the content or functionality of any supporting information supplied by the authors.
