EP01.20: Artificial intelligence for estimating fetal intracranial volumes

Analysing fetal intracranial volume (ICV) using three-dimensional ultrasound with Smart ICV (artificial intelligence (AI)) technology (AI-based single touch volume estimation tool) and to measure normal fetal brain growth over different gestational ages. This prospective single-centre study included 100 pregnant women (18-35 gestational weeks). We used transabdominal three-dimensional ultrasound with single crystal 1-8MHz Volume Convex Transducer on Mindray Resona I9 with Smart ICV technology to monitor fetal intracranial volume; explore the correlation between intracranial volume and gestational age, biparietal diameter (BPD), and head circumference (HC).The volume estimation is automatic once the 3D multiplanar volume is acquired. The intracranial volume of normal fetuses gradually increased with gestational age, and was highly correlated with gestational age, BPD, and HC and a nomogram was created. Smart ICV technology is AI-based single touch volume estimation tool feasible for accurately measuring the fetal intracranial volume throughout gestation and this will enable evaluation of fetuses with macrocephaly and microcephaly in a simple protocol. Abstract
