EP01.43: Knowledge of perinatal palliative care in medical staff

To identify the knowledge of the medical staff about perinatal palliative care. This is a descriptive study in which a survey on knowledge of perinatal palliative care was applied to medical personnel, including the specialties of Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine, a literature review about Perinatal palliative care was carried out, then a questionnaire that measures knowledge, about it, which was validated before its distribution seeking comprehensibility, simplicity, reproducibility and validity, having as objective to know the access to courses and training on PPC as well as the knowledge about them of personnel predisposed to grant them at some point in their professional practice. An instrument was designed with a reproducibility of 0.9 with 15 items on knowledge, in addition to 4 exploratory questions, it was applied to 122 medical staff, there was a variation in the number of correct answers from 5 to 15, with a mean of 11.35 (75.66%), and a median of 11. It was also found that only 18 participants (14.8%) have had access to courses or training, with which we can observe that, in our environment, access to training on perinatal palliative care is even less than what is reported in the current literature, contrasting with 52 participants (43%) who have needed to grant them in their professional practice. The lack of access to PPC courses is clear, demonstrated by the average number of correct answers, which is lower than expected, in addition to seeing how the percentage of personnel who have participated in them is much higher compared to the minimum percentage with access to course and training in this practice, which brings us to an application without prior knowledge. Is important to include CPP knowledge in the courses of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Materno-Fetal Medicine.
