EP17.41: Predictive value of sliding sign in preterm birth
Identifying predictive factors of preterm delivery in patients hospitalised for threatened preterm delivery between 28 and 34 weeks. We conducted a prospective analytical study over a period of six months (From September to February) at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of Farhat Hached Sousse in Tunisia. We studied 71 primary pregnant women who were hospitalised for a threat of premature delivery and whose gestational age was between 28 and 34 weeks. Univariate analysis showed that the factors that could be predictive of preterm delivery are premature rupture of membranes (p = 0.017), urinary tract infection (p = 0.022), short cervical length (p < 0.001) and the presence of a positive sliding sign (<0.0001). On multivariate analysis, of all the factors studied, those predictive of preterm birth were: the presence of premature rupture of membranes (PROM) (p = 0.02, OR = 7.3), a funnel-shaped image (p = 0.01, OR 10.6) and a positive cervical sliding sign (p < 0.001, OR 17.4) making it the most significant predictive sign. Regardless all the other signs, positive sliding sign is the only significant preterm birth predictive sign.
