EP20.24: Outcome of endometrial assessment in women with postmenopausal bleeding and ultrasound scan finding of axial uterus
To evaluate if axial uterus requires further invasive endometrial assessment. Prospective study (from 30 September 2019 to 15 March 2024) to evaluate the outcome of endometrial assessment in women with postmenopausal bleeding and axial uterus on ultrasound scan. The majority of women have benign endometrium/benign polyp. Endometroid and neuroendocrine tumour were reported on endometrial biopsy. Axial position of the uterus limits the precision of endometrial assessment in postmenopausal women with bleeding. A thorough endometrial assessment is indicated: endometrial biopsy or hysteroscopy should be considered in all cases.
