EP01.65: MATHLAB‐sonographer agreement for the contrast‐to‐noise ratio at the 18‐week scan

This study aimed to evaluate MATHLAB-sonographer agreement for contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) assessment at the 18-week scan. This single-centre retrospective cross-sectional study included 187 consecutive pregnancies, with 205 fetuses and 565 ultrasound images. Using a General Electric Medical Systems machine and an RM6C 2–7-MHz curved array transducer, one operator performed the scans with consistent settings. Two independent and blinded sonographers scored contrast and noise levels on a scale of 1 to 3 and the contrast-to-noise ratios (CNRs) for two regions of interest representing small and large anatomical structures in the 4-chamber, abdominal perimeter, and longitudinal spine views. The CNRs were calculated using MATHLAB R2014a(MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA, USA) and Sassaroli's method. Both sonographers' and MATHLAB CNR scores were categorised as poor, fair, good, or excellent, based on quartile ranges. We demonstrated a slight MATHLAB sonographer agreement for CNR. Using a device such as MATHLAB does not seem to be a good solution for image quality assessments. Abstract
