South Korea’s Manned Space Launch Strategy through Soyuz and Falcon 9 Development Strategy
In this study, the development process of Soyuz and Falcon 9 was studied for the development of a Korean manned space launch vehicle, and it was found that only gas generator cycle engines can be used for manned launch vehicles. The minimum launch success rate required to transition to a manned space launcher was analyzed to be 95%, which would require about 40 launches for the Nuri. The basic variant of the Nuri is expected to be capable of configuring a one-or two-seat manned space launch vehicle, and when improved, it can be upgraded to the Soyuz class.
