Concept Design of Small Launch Vehicle SystemUsing 3 tonf Class High Performance Upper Stage Engine
This paper introduces the result of the conceptual design of a ground-launched small launch vehicle system aimed at inserting a 500 kg small satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 km.The launch site is set to use the first launch site of the Naro Space Center or a public launch site in the space industry cluster to be built with government support in the future, and the first stage engine is set to use a 75 tonf engine used in the second stage of the Korean Space Launch Vehicle-II, and the second stage engine is set to use a high performance 3 tonf class methane engine developed through the Small Launch Vehicle Development Capability Support Project of the Ministry of Science and ICT.System engineering techniques were applied to the design process, from concept of operations analysis to requirements analysis, launch vehicle staging design and configuration design (sizing and layout design), and mission analysis. 500 kg 500 km .
