Enhanced functional rehabilitation of maxillary defects post-osteomyelitis: A case study utilizing immediate and definitive obturators
• This review presents a detailed case study showcasing the successful management of a maxillary defect resulting from osteomyelitis through the use of both immediate and definitive obturators. • The combination of an immediate surgical obturator and a definitive obturator ensures functional restoration, with particular attention given to minimizing occlusal load on the defect side for enhanced stability. • The case underscores the value of a multidisciplinary approach in achieving optimal outcomes, demonstrating how careful planning and execution can address the complex challenges of maxillary defect rehabilitation.
