IA E EDUCAÇÃO: A TRANSFORMAÇÃO DO PROCESSO DE APRENDIZAGEM E ENSINO PELA INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL.

During the bibliographical research carried out on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in distance learning courses and in education in general, we were able to observe the benefits, limitations and challenges it presents for both teachers and students. AI brings several advantages, such as personalizing teaching, the ability to provide instant feedback, access to high-quality content and improving the learning process. However, AI also faces obstacles and disadvantages, such as the demand for frequent system updates, the absence of human interaction, and the potential for algorithmic discrimination. An exemplary case of successful use of AI in education is IBM's Watson Education, which supports individualized and collaborative learning, allowing students to engage in interactive activities and receive immediate feedback. Furthermore, this platform can help educators identify deficiencies in students' knowledge and offer personalized interventions. However, both teachers and students face obstacles when effectively implementing AI in education, such as the need to adapt to new technologies, keep systems up to date, and ensure data privacy and security. It is crucial that education professionals are trained to face these difficulties and take advantage of AI for relevant and effective learning.
