The Effect of a Separate Flow of Patients With Small Traumatic Injuries on Consult Time and Patient Satisfaction: A Retrospective Cohort Study During COVID-19 in the Emergency Department.
The Fracture Clinic resulted in shorter consult times and an increased patient satisfaction compared to the usual patient flow for patients with small traumatic injuries in the ED. These patients could be redirected to an outpatient clinical setting to improve efficiency in patient flow, while avoiding a negative impact from the triage system in which they usually are the lowest priority.
