İbrahim Yınal ve Siyasî Faaliyetler

As a result of the conquests made during the reign of Tuğrul Bey, the first ruler of the Great Seljuk State, the borders of the state expanded considerably. One of the most important figures of the conquest movements in this period was Ibrahim Yınal, Tuğrul Bey's brother from the same mother. After the Seljuks defeated the Ghaznavids in the Battle of Dandanakan in 1040, Ibrahim Yınal entered the command of Tugrul Beg and made great contributions to the conquests made in the western direction. Ibrahim Yınal, who gained great successes with his conquests in Iran, was later appointed as the governor of Azerbaijan and carried out activities in Anatolia, where he also achieved important military successes. After the Anatolian campaign, Tugrul Beg asked Ibrahim Yınal to surrender the conquered places, which caused Ibrahim Yınal to rebel. However, Ibrahim Yınal's rebellion was suppressed by Tugrul Beg who had a strong army. Sultan preferred to forgive his brother despite his rebellion. Ibrahim Yınal, who achieved new successes with his activities after his rebellion, attempted to revolt for the second time after a while. This second rebellion of his was suppressed by force. However, he was not forgiven this time and was executed. Ibrahim Yınal became one of the most important figures in the history of the Great Seljuk State with his victories and rebellion attempts. Therefore, Ibrahim Yınal and his political activities should be analysed in order to enlighten the period of Tugrul Beg. In this study, it is aimed to contribute to the enlightenment of the first period of the Great Seljuk State by analysing Ibrahim Yınal and his political activities in the light of historical sources.
