Enfoques, estudios y perspectivas teóricas sobre la deserción escolar en la educación superior: propuesta de un modelo teórico

The main objective of this paper is to design a theoretical framework about higher education dropout. Therefore, the main theories about school dropout were analyzed to propose a model, followed up by a systematical review of the literature, and the model was tested. In this phase new categories emerged, which were integrated to the resulting theoretical model. Lastly, evidence of the more relevant factors of college dropout was found in this systematic review, and to conclude a theoretical model propose is presented. Additionally, the model’s adaptation to other educational institutions was discussed, as well as some suggestions to apply it pertinently.
