The effect of the professor guiding beliefs perceived by street dance majors on value perception and career decision-making self-efficacy

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the Professor guiding beliefs perceived by street dance majors on value recognition (major value, self-value) and career decision-making self-efficacy (career exploration, problem solving, career decision). This study is a street dance major (college student), and the survey was conducted for about 90 days from November 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024 in Seoul and Chungnam, and a total of 190 samples were collected. This study conducted a structural equation model analysis using a total of two statistical programs, SPSS and Smart PLS, and the analysis results are summarized as follows.(1) It was found that the guiding belief of the Professor majoring in street dance had a statistically significant positive (+) effect on the value perception (major value, self-value) of the major (college student). (2) The guiding belief of the Professor majoring in street dance and the value perception (major value, self-value) of the major (college student) were found to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect on career exploration. (3) The guiding belief of the Professor majoring in street dance and the value perception (major value, self-value) of the major (college student) were found to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect on problem solving. (4) It was found that the guiding belief of the Professor majoring in street dance and the value perception (major value, self-value) of the major (college student) had a statistically significant positive (+) effect on career decision. (5) The guiding belief of the Professor majoring in street dance → the major value of the major (college student) → career decision-making self-efficacy (career exploration, problem solving, and career decision-making path) had a mediating effect.
