Introduction to this special section: The Eastern Mediterranean

Abstract With the current focus on clean energy and the role of Eastern Mediterranean gas, and after the organization of the successful SEG Mediterranean Gas Exploration (MEGA) Symposium in Egypt in 2023, it became clear that a TLE special section on the Eastern Mediterranean was needed to present more discussions, more ideas, and more data to a larger audience for the benefit of unlocking the basin's material yet-to-find potential.
