Comment on “tracking rule” and generalization of special relativity

In a recent article in this journal (Canadian Journal of Physics 102, 43 (2024)), Alexander L. Kholmetskii, Oleg V. Missevitch, and Tolga Yarman criticized our views on the tracking rule and issued some inaccurate statements related to them. We clarify those statements explicating their content and analyze the meaning of the tracking rule as a valid principle to generalize special relativity.

Abstract

In a recent article in this journal (Canadian Journal of Physics 102, 43 (2024)), Alexander L. Kholmetskii, Oleg V. Missevitch, and Tolga Yarman criticized our views on the tracking rule and issued some inaccurate statements related to them. We clarify those statements explicating their content and analyze the meaning of the tracking rule as a valid principle to generalize special relativity.
