La nueva “dama de hierro”. Concepciones y estereotipos de género en el autorretrato de Victoria Villarruel.

This article analyzes the gender conceptions underlying the way Victoria Villarruel constructs her self-portrait and characterizes feminism and gender equality policies. To do this, I used the thematic analysis method based on the survey and coding of a corpus of twenty interventions. This survey allowed me to show that the current vice-president presents in her self-portrait a renewed version of the right wing, in a process of convergence with feminism, by combining a feminized discourse of concern for the victims with a tough and implacable profile as an "iron lady", a security specialist, divorced and childless. However, she reinforces traditional gender conceptions in her opposition to gender equality policies and certain sectors of feminism from an anti-gender stance. Therefore, I argue that Villarruel offers a complex and unique self-portrait as a right-wing female leader that does not easily conform to gender stereotypes or anti-feminism.
