Enhancement of Target Localization Based on Angle-of-Arrival Measurement via Quantum Sensor Networks
Quantum sensor networks with quantum effects provide a novel way to improve the accuracy of estimated parameters. To tackle the problem of low angle measurement accuracy in the traditional triangulation method, we propose a quantum-enhanced angle-of-arrival (AoA) estimation scheme and analyze the performance of a quantum sensing localization system. Here, we estimate the radio frequency (RF) phase and its higher derivatives via an array of multiple sensors, which can be further extended to localization networks. Combining the enhanced estimation of AoA observations with the triangulation method, the localization precision is significantly improved. The optimized quantum technique is expected to be applied in the direction finding and positioning of modern phased-array radars and navigation systems.
