Cuidados de enfermería en el adulto mayor con hiperplasia prostática benigna y alcoholismo en la costa Oaxaqueña
A clinical case diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), reflects the increasing prevalence of this condition in relation to age. Urinary flow obstruction due to prostatic enlargement results in lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), significantly impacting the quality of life of men over 45 years of age. The patient, due to his age is in a risk group, so a nursing care plan (PLACE) was designed to promote his autonomy and well-being, based on Virginia Henderson's 14 needs and using taxonomies of diagnoses, outcomes and nursing interventions to address the patient's needs. As a result of these interventions, an improvement in the user's health status was observed, demonstrating the effectiveness of the patient-centered nursing care process (NCP) and their ability to manage their condition autonomously resident of the Oaxaqueña Coast.
