Introgression drives adaptation to the plateau environment in a subterranean rodent
Introgression of genes associated with hypoxia adaptation from plateau zokors may have played a role in the adaptation of Gansu zokors to the plateau environment. Our study provides new insights into the understanding of adaptive evolution of species on the QTP and the importance of introgression in the adaptation of species to high-altitude environments.
