A Proposed Framework For Using Nuclear Power Plants To Sea Water Desalination And Extracting Hydrogen To Achieve Environmental Sustainability

The study aims to enhance environmental sustainability through nuclear energy in sustaining energy supplies free of carbon polluting the atmosphere, which affects climate change, which is one of the greatest challenges of the twenty-first century. Therefore, the use of nuclear energy led to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 60 gigatons, as attempted. The researchers in this research highlight the role of nuclear energy in environmental sustainability through its various uses that serve humans and also preserve the environment and climate change with the absence of carbon emissions, through its use in desalinating seawater, producing hydrogen, and generating synthetic fuels. Therefore, nuclear energy has the ability to contribute to Promoting environmental sustainability. The study clarified the role of nuclear energy in contributing to reducing climate change by reducing greenhouse gases and greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the 2015 Paris Agreement and its contribution to bridging the water deficit gap and reducing the demand for fossil fuels by securing our requirements for clean fuel (hydrogen) through the supply Seawater desalination plants/electrolyzers with electrical or thermal energy. Comparing the results of water desalination with different methods and with various energy sources also showed that the least expensive is the military osmosis method powered electrically from a nuclear station, amounting to about $0.79/m3 of desalinated water. The two studies also showed the returnThe economy of producing hydrogen with nuclear energy is much better and cheaper than traditional methods.
