Optimizing Intelligent Automobile Instrument Interface Layouts Using Visual Search Techniques
In recent years, with the rapid development and application of technologies such as the Internet and artificial intelligence in the field of transportation, smart cars have become increasingly popular. This study aims to explore how different interface layouts affect drivers' visual search performance, thereby influencing information retrieval efficiency and driving safety. The research goal is to determine the optimal dashboard interface layout to improve drivers' visual search efficiency and reduce cognitive load.To achieve this, the study constructed an experimental testing platform using Eprime and stimulus presentation design tools and conducted a series of experiments to validate the impact of different interface layouts on drivers' visual search performance. The research findings indicate that both bottom-up and top-down factors significantly influence users' observation efficiency of dashboard displays, with the efficiency of dashboard menu positions ranking as top > middle > left/right.Based on the experimental results, the dashboard interface layout design should involve arrangements on both the left and right sides, with the main menu positioned in the center alongside vehicle speed and engine speed indicators. This design not only significantly reduces drivers' visual search time but also lowers cognitive load, thereby enhancing the accuracy and speed of information processing. In conclusion, this study provides new theoretical foundations and practical guidance for the design of intelligent car dashboard interfaces, further solidifying the groundwork for the development of future intelligent driving technologies.
