Impact of Blockchain Characteristics on Consumer Intention to Use: Focusing on the Technology Acceptance Model

Various industries, such as education, healthcare, and real estate, have begun to utilize blockchain technology in everyday operations. This study analyzed the perceptions formed to date of blockchain by users who have encountered block chain by expanding the technology acceptance model to investigate blockchain technology or users' intention to use it.To achieve this, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the characteristics of blockchain technology were composed of five independent variables: decentralization, security, diversity, reliability, and transparency.A research framework was constructed, integrating perceived usefulness and ease of use as intermediary variables, with the intention to use them as the dependent variable. This study surveyed users with experience using blockchain technology, and statistical analysis verified discriminant and convergent validity using Smart PLS 4.0.The results of this study indicate that among the attributes of blockchain, decentralization, diversity, reliability, and transparency, the intention to use is mediated by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use.On the other hand, the hypothesis positing that security would substantially influence perceived usefulness and ease of use was not supported. This study is significant because it understands future blockchain characteristics and empirically analyzes the relationship between them and the intention to use.
