Generation of monthly mean flows using the Gr2m model for trend analysis

This paper analyzes the monthly mean flow trend in the Chicama, Moche, and Santa basins. The research is framed in a descriptive and explanatory approach, with an experimental, longitudinal, and prospective design. The climatic data were collected using R software (version 3.6.3) from the gridded databases of precipitation (PISCO V2.0) and temperature (PISCO V1.0) developed by SENAMHI. Station locations were determined using specific geographic coordinates for each basin. This information served as an input variable for the flow simulation using the GR2M model. The simulated flows were used for trend analysis using the Mann-Kendall and Free Cusum nonparametric tests. The GR2M hydrologic model showed an efficiency rated as “Good” in each of the basins studied, suggesting adequate simulation accuracy during the calibration and validation stages.
